Upgrade your browser, already!... Microsoft IE6 is 5 years old (as of 05). It's outdated and in desperate need of an update (I hear IE7 should be out this summer, I'll comment on it when it's out). It used to be that sites worked just fine in IE all the time, but technologies change. Web developers and designers are getting more and more W3C compliant tools to create stunning websites that *should* work in all modern browsers... this ends up being true for pretty much all major browsers except for Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
I've listed some of the best browser choices below (IMHO), along with web plugins you might want to check out. They're free and they work great.

Mozilla FireFox
What exactly do you want your browser to do? Surf the web, right? FireFox is a lean, mean web browsing machine without all the extras that slow
things down.

Apple's Safari
If you've got OS X, it comes with Safari, which is a pretty sweet browser. It does have some minor quirks, but it's a great alternative to
Microsoft IE 5 for Mac.

There are other browsers that are similar to FireFox and Safari in usability and performance, but in my experience, none seem to be quite
as tight of a program as FireFox. These include Opera,
Mozilla, and
Konqueror. ↑ Top |
