Having a slick gui to access all my MySQL tables is handy, and really speeds up the development process. Sequel Pro is great. It's fast, intuitive and gives me all the database/table control I need on a day to day basis. I manage many tables in many databases on a variety of webservers, and Sequel Pro's favorites allows me quick and easy, yet secure, access to all of my data through standard, socket or SSH connections.

Sequel Pro is built off the source code of the now defunct CocoaMySQL app, and has kept the good and added so much more.

Tips:

Use it for remote access to your MySQL databases
In most cases, though, you'll need to request specific access from your host. Your host should be able to provide access to the databases from your IP. It's WAY faster than using phpMyAdmin, which in my experience, most Apache hosts provide.
